What’s After What?: The Second Secret to Success

Ready to Learn Another Secret to Success Last week we talked about your What. We revealed that it is the bigger vision that carries you through tough times. During the Visioning workshop, we looked within our hearts to discover the most important thing in our lives right now. For some it was healing the physical body. For others, it was adding more joy and laughter into their life. For another, it was having peacefulness as the foundation of all goals and actions. We discovered our What and it became our foundation, springboard, and guy-wire for life. Lowercase whats With What clearly defined, you can achieve your lowercase whats with a new sense of motivation, fulfillment and satisfaction.  So what are you building? Where do you want to land? These are you lower case whats. These are your goals and the changes you want to make in your life. I’m sure you’ve done lots of goal setting in your life. Goal setting is great. But, without the What and the How, most goals are not attained. How After What A goal is a destination on a journey. By what means will you get there? You need a plan. Most people grab paper or put fingers to the keyboard and make a simple list of tasks with a deadline for arriving at the destination. Maybe you even add intermediate milestones with dates. Great! What Before How:  A Secret to Success

About a month ago we celebrated the New Year and it’s a time when everyone talks about goals and resolutions. It is a cultural thing. We set our goals/resolutions and the pattern typically goes something like this: At first we are motivated. We get all the things we need to make the change. We make a schedule and start off down the road. Then we are tempted by an old habit or find the new road too hard to travel. We quickly yearn for the old ways. In a short time, we take detours and end back where we started. What happened? No What!
